INTERNSHIP PROGRAM’S WITHDRAWAL OF ENGLISH AND LITERATURE

On October 26, 2020, English and literature department withdrew internship students

which were symbolically carried out in several locations they are district education office

of Gowa Regency and Makassar Immigration office. As many as 127 students from the

seventh took part in the internship program for 40 days in various institutions, both

government and private. After carrying out the internship, later students will make an

internship report and also present it to the supervisor.

There is something interesting about this internship program, students were free to choose

the location of the internship they want, according to their interests, talents and most

importantly their easy access to the internship location. Considering this program is still in

the new normal period, some students choose to do an internship in their respective

hometowns. They choose internships that are easy to reach and in accordance with the

competence of the English literature department such as the tourism and education office

as well as the media. While those who choose a location in Makassar got the opportunity to

do the internship at the Makassar immigration office and also the Language Center for the

province of South Sulawesi.

The program which was implemented for the first time was finally carried out well. From

the location of the internship, the supervisors conveyed a good impression and felt quite

helped by the presence of the students. But in the future, there were still many things that

need to be improved, especially in terms of management of the internships.
