This activity is a community service activity launched by English Language and Literature Department, Adab and Humanities Faculty, Alauddin Islamic State University of Makassar, with school targets that are always different every year. This year's theme is "Increasing Motivation, Improving Your Critical Reading" and is located at the Abnaul Amir Islamic Boarding School. Mandatory for 10 students majoring in English Language and Literature and 12 lecturers in charge. This activity will be held on October 12, 2023.

This activity aims to improve critical thinking and higher-level thinking skills. From this activity, students are expected to be able to understand, analyze, and evaluate the text they read. This goal means that critical reading is not only a reading skill to understand reading text in determining the quality of writing.

The hope expressed by the Islamic boarding school leaders in their opening remarks is that students can maximize their presence to exchange ideas and gain new knowledge about improving critical thinking skills, because it is a general fact that critical thinking skills are skills needed in the future.
