Bandung, October 23, 2024 – Two lecturers from the English Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, participated as presenters in The 70th TEFLIN and 17th CONAPLIN held at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung from October 23 to 25, 2024. This conference serves as an international forum that brings together experts, researchers, and academics to discuss the latest developments in language teaching, linguistic studies, and educational technology.
At the event, the two lecturers presented their respective topics on online learning environment and linguistic development. Dr. Sardian Maharani Asnur discussed the dynamics of English-speaking anxiety from a gender perspective, exploring how speaking anxiety is influenced by learning formats. Meanwhile, Nirwana, S.Pd., M.Pd. presented research findings on linguistic studies using a pragmasemantic and forensic linguistic approach to examine implicit meanings and the impact of language in the political context on social media.
Through the participation of these two lecturers, the English Language and Literature Study Program, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Alauddin Makassar, significantly contributed to enhancing the reputation of the program. The research they presented reflects their commitment to developing linguistic studies and language teaching that are relevant to contemporary challenges. Furthermore, their involvement in this international academic forum opens up opportunities for global research collaboration and knowledge exchange, which will ultimately enrich the curriculum and quality of education in the English Language and Literature Study Program. This contribution further emphasizes UIN Alauddin's role as a global center of linguistic and cultural studies.
