Makassar, 22 September 2025 – The Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Department of English Language and Literature, successfully held the Internship Orientation 2025 on Monday (22/09) at the LT Room (Lecture Theatre). The program was organized to equip students with essential knowledge and perspectives before they begin their internship placements this semester.

The event was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Prof. Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag, who emphasized the importance of internships as a bridge between academic learning and professional practice. In his opening remarks, he encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity to apply their skills and gain valuable workplace experience.

The orientation consisted of a series of insightful sessions delivered by distinguished speakers. Wa Ode Surya Darmadali, S.S., M.Hum. opened the academic sessions with a presentation on Self-Actualization and Language Competence, highlighting the importance of confidence and communication skills in professional settings.

The second session, led by Sandra Dewi Dahlan, S.Pd., M.A., explored Religious Tolerance and Moderation, underscoring the value of diversity and mutual respect in the workplace. This was followed by Dr. Jumharia Djamereng, M.Hum., who discussed Organizational and Social Ethics, emphasizing the importance of ethical awareness and professional integrity as key qualities for interns.

A dynamic Q&A session then allowed students to interact directly with their supervisors and clarify expectations. Guided by Dr. Muhammad Taufik, S.S., M.Hum., the session not only addressed student concerns but also included an important briefing on internship placements and locations, ensuring students clearly understood where they would be assigned and what was expected of them.

With this orientation, the Department of English Language and Literature hopes students are now better equipped to embark on their internship journeys with confidence and responsibility.
