Gowa, 13 November 2025 — Good news comes from the Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN) Makassar. The English Language and Literature Study Program (BSI) has officially earned an “Excellent” Accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), based on the Decree of the Executive Board Director of BAN-PT Number 8269/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/S/XI/2025. The accreditation certificate is valid from 11 November 2025 to 11 November 2030. This achievement marks a historic milestone for the English Language and Literature Study Program, reflecting its strong commitment to maintaining academic quality, curriculum relevance, and excellence in the university’s three pillars of education. The “Excellent” Accreditation was awarded through a rigorous assessment process that evaluated teaching, research, community service, governance, as well as the quality of human resources and infrastructure. The Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Prof. Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag., expressed his gratitude and appreciation for this remarkable accomplishment. “Alhamdulillah, this Excellent Accreditation is the result of the hard work of the entire academic community—from lecturers and administrative staff to students. With this achievement, all four study programs in the Faculty of Adab and Humanities have now obtained Excellent status, a milestone we should all be grateful for,” he said. Prof. Barsihannor further emphasized that this achievement is not the end, but the beginning of a renewed commitment to continuously improve the quality of education, innovation, and academic competitiveness at the national and international levels. “We aim to make FAH UIN Alauddin Makassar a leading faculty in the development of linguistics, literature, history, and library science grounded in Islamic and humanitarian values,” he added. The success of the English Language and Literature Study Program in achieving Excellent Accreditation completes the accomplishments of the three other study programs in FAH—namely Arabic Language and Literature, Islamic History and Civilization, and Library Science—which had previously earned the same distinction. With this, all study programs in the Faculty of Adab and Humanities now hold Excellent Accreditation, solidifying FAH’s position as one of the leading faculties at UIN Alauddin Makassar.
