Handover of 7 BSI Internship Students at Balai Bahasa Sulawesi Selatan

Makassar, October 2, 2025 – The Department of English Language and Literature (BSI), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), UIN Alauddin Makassar officially handed over seven students to carry out an internship program at the Language Center of South Sulawesi Province. The handover was conducted by the supervising lecturer and the Secretary of the BSI Department and was received directly by Dr. Sandra Safitri Hanan, S.S., M.A., a Senior Functional Linguist at the Language Center of South Sulawesi Province.

This activity is part of the university’s effort to provide students with real work experience while strengthening institutional relations with strategic partners in the fields of language and literature. During the internship, students will be involved in various activities, ranging from language literacy development and linguistic documentation to research and publication programs conducted by the Language Center.

In her remarks, Dr. Sandra Safitri Hanan warmly welcomed the BSI students. She expressed hope that they would take advantage of this opportunity to broaden their knowledge, sharpen their skills, and contribute meaningfully to the Center’s language programs. “We are open to building collaborations with UIN Alauddin Makassar, especially in the fields of language and literature—through research, training, and community service,” she stated.

The BSI supervising lecturers expressed their appreciation for the Language Center’s willingness to accept the interns. They emphasized that this program not only helps students gain practical work experience but also paves the way for future academic collaboration between the faculty and the South Sulawesi Language Center.

This handover also marks the beginning of a formal partnership exploration between the BSI Department of FAH UIN Alauddin Makassar and the Language Center of South Sulawesi Province. Through this synergy, it is expected that various collaborative programs will emerge to enhance the quality of research, teaching, and community engagement in the field of language and literature.
