On Monday, April 22nd, 2024, the Faculty of Adab and Humanities held its 103rd Graduation Ceremony and Informal Gathering at the Claro Hotel Makassar. A total of 81 Bachelor of Humanities students successfully completed their thesis examinations, fulfilling the graduation requirement. The English and Literature Department awarded degrees to 25 graduates, while the Arabic and Literature Department awarded degrees to 16 graduates, the Islamic Civilization History Department awarded a degree to 33 graduate, and the Library Science Department awarded degrees to 7 graduates.
Professor Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag., Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, attended the event alongside Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. H. Muhammad Yusuf, M.Ag., and also as the committee chair as well. The event also welcomed Deputy Dean for Finance, Dr. Irvan Muliadi, M.Si., MA, and Deputy Dean for Students and Cooperation, Dr. Nurkhalis A. Gaffar, S.Ag., M.Ag. Heads and secretaries from all departments, along with faculty staff, were present to celebrate with their alumni as they received their diplomas.
Parents of the graduates were specifically invited to witness their sons' and daughters' achievements at this momentous occasion. This gathering further fostered a sense of community within the Faculty of Adab and Humanities. This sense of pride will undoubtedly contribute to the graduates' lifelong connection with the Alauddin Makassar State Islamic University.
The English and Literature Department is proud to recognize its outstanding graduates: Amsur, S.Hum. (GPA: 3.71), Malikul Mulki, S.Hum. (GPA: 3.89) who earned second place honors, and Anita, S.Hum. (GPA: 3.82) who achieved third place. In his speech, the Dean emphasized that graduation is not the end of the road, but rather the beginning of a new chapter filled with opportunities and challenges. He acknowledged the graduates' future competitors and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence. Furthermore, the Dean expressed his sincere gratitude to the parents of the graduates for entrusting their sons and daughters to the faculty's care and education.
The Dean also encouraged the graduates to invest in their personal and professional development to achieve their goals. He advised them to prepare for competition from graduates of other universities, whether seeking employment opportunities, scholarships for master's programs abroad, or pursuing postgraduate studies in Indonesia.
