STUDENTS OF DEPARTMENT OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE WIN THIRD WINNER IN THE UNIVERSITY POETRY WRITING COMPETITION

 A student of the Department of English Language and Literature (BSI), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) UIN Alauddin, Aimanul Hakim won third place in the Poetry Competition at the University Level.

The class of 2020 student won this award from an activity held by the Department of Student Association (HMJ), Physics, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UIN Alauddin.The poem’s theme is "Jokes in the Free Land". According to Aimanul, this literary work is a satire against a country that is increasingly discriminating against the poor. the voices of students who are increasingly silenced by threats

Meanwhile, he added, it is the small people who are increasingly discriminated against while the newcomers are respected like kings explained the reason for making poetry by choosing this topic because he saw the current state of the country, which was getting more and more apprehensive.

"This poem is a form of insult from us as children of the nation to the leaders above so that justice and jokes in this country are immediately ended. Poetry is the best way to voice opinions, and because I am a student majoring in literature, I can hereby voice my aspirations as a student in a different way. in general, through literature, I believe and believe that our voices and writings will be remembered, and hopefully, through these works we can inspire more people out there that the way to speak out is not always by going out on the street but by writing we can also find horizons of our thinking

 " he said." This extraordinary experience was my first time participating in a poetry writing competition, and thank God for the results I got were beyond my expectations. I hope that every activity like this can be published more on social media at UIN Alauddin," he hoped.
