Makassar, October 19, 2025 — The Department of English Language and Literature (BSI), Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH), Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Alauddin Makassar, proudly took part in the Graduation Gathering for the 114th and 115th cohorts, held at Claro Hotel Makassar on Sunday (October 19, 2025). The event served as a heartfelt moment of appreciation for the graduates who have successfully completed their academic journey.
A total of 181 graduates from four study programs — Arabic Language and Literature, English Language and Literature, Library and Information Science, and Islamic Civilization History — were officially inaugurated as alumni. The gathering was filled with warmth and joy, attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, staff, and the proud parents of the graduates.
In his address, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Prof. Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag, encouraged all graduates to uphold academic integrity, ethics, and social responsibility as Muslim intellectuals. He emphasized that the event was not merely ceremonial but also a symbol of academic kinship and gratitude.
“This gathering marks the beginning of a new chapter for our graduates. We hope that the alumni of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities will continue to bring honor to their alma mater, contribute to society, and become agents of positive change,” he stated.
The Head of the English Language and Literature Department also expressed pride in the graduates’ academic achievements and creative endeavors. “Our graduates are expected to become cultural and linguistic ambassadors who make meaningful contributions in education, translation, communication, and other professional fields,” she remarked.
The evening concluded with an emotional speech from a student representative, followed by a prayer and congratulations from faculty leaders. Through this event, the Department of English Language and Literature reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also strong moral character, ethics, and a spirit of humanity — the core values of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities at UIN Alauddin Makassar.
