Makassar — The Internal Quality Audit (AMI) assessment team led by Dr. Hj. Dwi Santy Damayanti, SKm, M.Kes conducted a quality audit at the English and Literature Department. The AMI team evaluated aspects related to course syllabi (RPS), course depth, and teaching quality. This internal quality audit, which covered the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, took place in the English and Literature Department room, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Alauddin Makassar, on Thursday (Nov 6).
The Head of the English and Literature Department, Dr. Rosmatami, stated that the quality audit serves as valuable feedback for the department to improve the implementation of the Tri Dharma at the departmental level.
“Such activities are a way to deepen the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and to plan the department’s future development,” said Dr. Rosmatami.
The AMI audit activity was attended by the Head of the Department’s Quality Assurance Team (GPM), Dr. Nahdiyah, M.Pd, as well as members Dr. Muhammad Taufik, S.S., M.Hum, and Purnama, M.Pd, Ph.D.
Dr. Dwi Santy Damayanti, the AMI assessor from the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM), explained that the development of OBE-based course syllabi (RPS) is still in the process of refinement and improvement at the university level.
According to the lecturer from the Faculty of Public Health, UIN Alauddin Makassar, the AMI refers to several aspects, the most common being Internal Quality Audit (AMI) within higher education institutions, which is a structured process to ensure activities meet standards and improve quality. Evaluation of standard compliance ensures that all study programs at UIN Alauddin conduct their learning processes consistently, effectively, and efficiently, through periodic AMI assessments held annually.
“The AMI process is carried out systematically, independently, and objectively, aiming to identify conformity or non-conformity with quality management system requirements and applicable regulations, evaluate the capability and effectiveness of the system implementation, and identify opportunities for improvement that can promote continuous quality enhancement in education,” explained Dr. Santi.
The implementation stages of AMI include planning, conducting the audit, review/evaluation, and follow-up on audit findings. UIN Alauddin emphasizes that systematic follow-up is the key to successfully improving and sustaining the learning process. The AMI implementation is not merely a formality to meet administrative requirements; rather, its results serve as an early warning system useful for monitoring performance achievements and ensuring real, ongoing improvements.
Currently, UIN Alauddin Makassar has 232 active Internal Academic Auditors who work independently, providing objective opinions on the reasonableness of self-evaluation reports within their audit scope, with the goal of fostering opportunities for institutional enhancement.
