BSI Undergoes Field Assessment, Dean Expresses Confidence in Positive Results

Gowa, October 23, 2025 — The Faculty of Adab and Humanities (FAH) of Alauddin State Islamic University (UIN) Makassar welcomed the assessment team from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) for the Field Assessment of the English Language and Literature Study Program (BSI) on Thursday (October 23, 2025). The assessment, which runs until October 24, 2025, marks an important step in the program’s effort to achieve Excellent Accreditation status.

The assessors, Prof. Dr. Ni Luh Nyoman Seri Malini, SS., M.Hum. from Udayana University, Bali, and Dr. Meinarni Susilowati, M.Ed. from UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, Malang, were formally welcomed by the university leadership at the Rectorate Building. In his remarks, the university leadership expressed appreciation for the assessment, emphasizing it as part of UIN Alauddin Makassar’s commitment to enhancing academic quality.

Following the university-level welcoming ceremony, the assessors proceeded to the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, where they were greeted warmly by the academic community in the Faculty Senate Room. The welcoming session was attended by the Dean of FAH, the Vice Deans, the Head and Secretary of the English Language and Literature Study Program, and other faculty leaders.

Also present were the Head of the Quality Assurance Institute (LPM) of UIN Alauddin Makassar, Dr. Muhammad Nur Akbar Rasyid, M.Pd., M.Ed., Ph.D., along with the university’s accreditation support team. Additionally, Dr. Syamhari, M.Pd., the Head of the Faculty Quality Assurance Committee (KPM), was actively involved in accompanying the assessment activities.

In his speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Prof. Dr. H. Barsihannor, M.Ag., extended a warm welcome to the assessors and highlighted that the field assessment serves as a strategic effort to ensure that the English Language and Literature Study Program meets BAN-PT standards. “We have prepared all required documents and supporting evidence as a reflection of our commitment to academic quality. We hope this assessment proceeds smoothly and that the English Language and Literature Program achieves the best possible results,” he said.

The entire academic community of the Faculty of Adab and Humanities expressed their hope that this field assessment will serve as a collective effort to enhance the national reputation of the English Language and Literature Study Program. “May the results of this assessment lead our program to achieve Excellent Accreditation,” was the shared aspiration voiced by the faculty leadership.

This assessment marks an important milestone for the Faculty of Adab and Humanities in strengthening its academic quality culture and improving the competitiveness of its study programs in facing global challenges in higher education.
