November 14, 2024 – As part of the benchmarking activities, the English and Literature Department held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with representatives from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM). The discussion centered on international research, specifically exploring AI Narratives in Muslim Communities in Developing Countries such as Malaysia and Indonesia.

During the FGD, JAKIM shared insights into Malaysia’s robust approach to safeguarding Islamic principles in decision-making processes. The discussion also highlighted Malaysia's proactive measures in countering threats such as terrorism, including those disseminated through the internet.

This event underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing emerging challenges and opportunities posed by AI, particularly within the context of religion and social dynamics. The FGD was a significant step in strengthening academic ties and fostering international research collaboration.
