English and Literature Department organized the 2nd National ELITE Competition 2022.

English and Literature Department UIN Alauddin Makassar organized the 2nd National Elite Competition in Sultan Alauddin hotel and Convention Makassar on 29th November-1st December 2022. This competition arranged two competition such as Speech Competition and Essay writing Competition by the theme “Your language, your identity”. The competition was joined by the university students from some provinces. The selection of speech competition was held separately at Saung Cobek, Gowa Regency virtually through zoom meeting on 29th November 2022. Thus, the final round took place at the Sultan Alauddin hotel on 1st December 2022 and decided four winners namely; Ahmad Ismail from UIN Sunan Kalijaga Jogjakarta as the winner, Siti Aulya Ramadani from UIN Alauddin Makassar as the runner up, A. Muh. Fairuz Fuadi from UIN Alauddin Makassar as 2nd runner up, and Muh. Effat Nassar from STIA LAN Makassar as the 3rd runner up. All the winners got the prizes as the committee had decided Rp. 1.500.000 for the winner.

The essay writing competition was carried out live at Sultan Alauddin hotel and convention on 1st December 2022. The contestants were selected from universities in Makassar. The competition was arranged in two sessions in which every contestants spent 40 minutes to finish their essay. This competition also selected four winners; Adinda Dwi Cahyani from UIN Alauddin Makassar as the winner, Ahmad Ismail from UIN Alauddin Makassar as the runner up, Andi Nur Atiraah from Hasanuddin University as the 2nd runner up, and Muh. Isyrof Syarif Ali Sadari from UIN Alauddin Makassar as the 3rd runner up. As the winners of speech competition, thewinner was also got the prizes Rp. 1.000.000. Ahmad, SS.,M.Lit. as the head of committee said that this competition might become the media in developing talent and interest in English skills. He also encouraged the contestants who hadn’t won yet this competition to keep improving their English skills and wouldn’t ever give up joining competitions.
