May 22, 2025 — A proud achievement has been made by Sri Sulastri, a student from the Department of English Language and Literature at UIN Alauddin Makassar. She secured Second Place in the Women’s Épée category at the SIF Competition Season 2, held on May 19–20, 2025, at Atrium Mall Ratu Indah, Makassar.

The competition brought together fencers from various regions, and Sri stood out with her skill, dedication, and sportsmanship. Having pursued fencing since 2021, Sri expressed her deep passion for the sport: “I fell in love with fencing, and every match feels too precious to miss,” she said.

For Sri, fencing is more than just a physical sport. “It requires focus, strategy, and quick thinking. Every movement in fencing reflects discipline, precision, and mental resilience — values I strive to cultivate within myself,” she explained.

Reflecting on her recent achievement, Sri shared a mix of emotions. “It’s a bittersweet feeling to win second place. I’m happy to have made it to the final, but there’s a hint of sadness for not winning first place. Still, I believe today’s setback will be a valuable lesson toward future success.”

She hopes her accomplishment can inspire other students to pursue their passions without hesitation. “Through fencing, I want to keep challenging myself to grow and become a better person — both in sports and in life,” she concluded.
