MAKASSAR, — UIN Alauddin Makassar and Universitas Fajar (Unifa)
Makassar have strengthened their collaborative efforts in preparation for the
upcoming English Literature Fest (ENLITE) 2026 through a joint technical
coordination meeting held at the Universitas Fajar Rectorate Building.
The meeting brought together 21
participants, including faculty members, organizing committee representatives,
and institutional stakeholders from both universities. The session focused on
finalizing operational, logistical, and programmatic arrangements to ensure the
successful implementation of one of the region’s leading academic and cultural
events in the field of English literature and performing arts.
ENLITE 2026 will feature a
diverse range of activities, including an international academic talk show,
theatrical performances, dramatic poetry presentations, and literary and
cultural exhibitions designed to promote academic engagement, creativity, and
intercultural collaboration.
According to Syahruni Junaid,
S.S., M.Pd., Chief of Community of ENLITE and lecturer in the Department of
English Literature, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, UIN Alauddin Makassar, the
coordination meeting was conducted to align organizational planning and ensure
comprehensive readiness across all divisions involved in the event.
“Every technical component must
be carefully prepared from the outset because ENLITE integrates academic
discourse with performing arts activities. Such a multidisciplinary event
requires strong coordination and effective communication among all organizing
teams,” she said.
During the meeting, organizers
finalized several key aspects of the festival, including the event schedule,
stage configuration, exhibition arrangements, participant services, and venue
management. Particular attention was given to designing a program structure
capable of accommodating both academic sessions and artistic performances while
ensuring a seamless experience for participants and audiences.
The organizing committee also
reviewed communication and promotional strategies, including digital outreach
initiatives, printed promotional materials, and participant certification
procedures. In addition, a comprehensive rehearsal schedule was established to
support operational readiness and minimize potential technical challenges
during the event.
Several academics who will
contribute to the festival’s intellectual and creative programs participated in
the meeting, including Dr. Muhammad Gafur Kadar, S.E., M.Si.; Dr. Ana Rosida,
S.S., M.Pd.; Nurfitriana, S.S., M.Hum.; and Indra Surya Kencana, S.S.
As a flagship student-centered
event, ENLITE 2026 is envisioned as a platform for academic collaboration,
literary appreciation, and creative expression. The festival seeks to enhance
students’ intellectual, linguistic, and artistic competencies while fostering
stronger partnerships among higher education institutions.
Following the completion of the
coordination meeting, organizing teams from UIN Alauddin Makassar and
Universitas Fajar officially entered the final preparation stage ahead of the
festival, which is scheduled to take place on July 15, 2026, at Gedung Fajar,
Abd. Rahman Basalama Street, Makassar.
Through this collaborative
initiative, both universities reaffirm their commitment to advancing education,
promoting cultural engagement, and creating meaningful opportunities for
students to develop leadership, creativity, and academic excellence. ENLITE
2026 is expected not only to strengthen institutional cooperation but also to
contribute to the broader development of arts, literature, and cultural
