From January 22 to 24, 2025, the Department of English Language and Literature organized a tourism program, bringing students to explore the cultural and historical gems of Bulukumba, South Sulawesi. The program included visits to iconic locations such as Kajang Traditional Village, Sulawesi's Zero Kilometer Point, the Glass Bridge, and Tanah Beru, known for its renowned Pinisi boat-making tradition.

Around 60 students participated in this three-day journey, accompanied by lecturers specializing in tourism-related subjects. The program aimed to provide firsthand experiences and cultural insights that go beyond what can be learned in the classroom.

Dela Puspita Sari, one of the students, highlighted Kajang Village and Tanah Beru as her favorite destinations. "These places stood out to me because I was able to witness and experience the daily lives of the locals. It was an entirely new and eye-opening experience," she shared.

She also emphasized the significance of the program in enhancing students' knowledge. "Tourism activities like this are essential because they provide insights and experiences that we can't gain from lectures alone. By interacting with the local community, we learn so much more," she explained. Dela suggested that future programs should focus on fewer destinations to allow deeper exploration of unique and informative locations.

This tourism program successfully showcased the rich culture and traditions of Bulukumba, offering students valuable experiences and a deeper appreciation of the region's heritage. It is anticipated that similar programs will continue to inspire students and contribute to their holistic learning journey.
