MAKASSAR, May 22, 2024 - Six students from the Indonesian Language and Literature Department of Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar have officially started their internship program at the Library and Archives Service of Gowa Regency. This initiative serves as a direct follow-up to the formal cooperation agreement signed between Balai Bahasa and the BSI Department. The program is designed to provide students with a real-world application of their studies while strengthening the partnership between the university and local government institutions.
The internship group is composed of two students from class Ag-3 and four students from class Ag-4. During their placement, the students are being supervised by Mrs. A. Irawati Rasyid, S.E., M.M., who serves as the field instructor at the location. Her role is to guide the students through their daily tasks and ensure that they develop the necessary professional skills required in the fields of archiving and library management.
A key feature of this internship is the implementation of a weekly rotational system for all participants. Under this arrangement, the students spend one week at the main office of the Dinas Perpustakaan dan Kearsipan Kabupaten Gowa before moving to the Gedung Pelayanan Perpustakaan Gowa the following week. This rolling method allows each student to gain diverse experience, ranging from back-office archival processing to front-end public library services, ensuring a well-rounded professional experience before they return to their academic studies.
