The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology under the leadership of Nadiem Anwar Makarim, has released the program of Kampus Merdeka. A new program which urges the university as higher education to be more flexible in term of curriculum and the program. Kampus Merdeka, then,  offers some programs such as Certified Internships, Independent Student Exchange, Campus Teaching and Certified Independent Study Projects.

Because of this new policy, Faculty of Adab and Humanities, Alauddin State Islamic University of Makassar, then, conducted an event of "Curriculum Review and Course Mapping toward MBKM (Merdekan Belajar Kampus Merdeka)".

The event was held in two days, Saturday and Monday, 21-22 August 2021 in Alauddin Hotel, Makassar. However, due to the pandemic of Covid-19, some participants attended this program via online meeting. The faculty involved lecturers, staffs, students, and indeed, the alumnus in reconstructing the curriculum.

On the second day, which was focused on department. English and Literature Department invited two well-experienced speaker: Indah Wahyuningsih, M,A., and Dr. Nensilianti, M.Hum.
