Makassar, May 16,
2024 - Aimanul Hakim, an English Language and Literature student from the
Faculty of Adab and Humanities at UIN Alauddin Makassar, was selected to
participate in the Religious Moderation Pioneer Orientation event. This event
took place over three days, from May 5 to May 8, 2024, at the Novotel Hotel in
Makassar.
The Religious
Moderation Pioneer Orientation aims to develop moderate thinking among students
regarding various societal issues and dynamics. During the event, participants
were provided with a range of materials designed to enhance their understanding
of the importance of moderation in religion and social life.
Throughout the
three-day event, participants received numerous engaging and impactful
sessions. Experts in their respective fields delivered presentations on the
significance of moderation, tolerance, and interfaith harmony. Additionally,
participants engaged in discussions about contemporary issues and how to apply
a moderate approach in addressing them.
Aimanul Hakim
shared his positive impressions of the event. "I felt very
enthusiastic, joyful, and proud to be part of this event. The materials
presented were extremely beneficial and inspiring. I gained a lot of new
insights on how to think and act moderately in response to various societal
issues," He said.
Aimanul also
highlighted that the event provided valuable experiences in understanding the
importance of moderation. "Throughout the event, I learned a lot about
the importance of being moderate and tolerant in facing differences. This has
been a very valuable experience for me," He added.
At the end of the
event, Aimanul expressed his hope that similar events would continue and even
expand in scope. "I hope activities like this can continue to be held
and reach a wider audience so that more people can benefit from them. I wish
more students could participate in such events and spread the spirit of
moderation in their respective communities," He concluded.
The Religious Moderation Pioneer Orientation event aims to produce more individuals who can think moderately and contribute positively to societal peace and harmony. The event organizers also expressed their commitment to continuing similar programs in the future to support the creation of a more tolerant and harmonious society. There are also two national facilitators from BSI who gave training to the pioneers, they are Sandra Dewi Dahlan, M.A and Waode Surya Darmadali, M.Hum.
