Makassar, Indonesia — The English Language and Literature Program at Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar organized an internship preparation session for seventh-semester students as part of its academic readiness initiative. The activity was designed to equip students with essential competencies before entering professional environments through internship programs.
The participants consisted of students from the English Language and Literature Department who are scheduled to undertake their internships in the upcoming academic period. The program aimed to strengthen students’ readiness by integrating academic, ethical, and socio-cultural dimensions relevant to workplace contexts.
The session featured a series of structured materials delivered by faculty members. Academic skills were presented by Waode Surya Darmadali, S.S., M.Hum., focusing on the development of language proficiency and the effective use of technology in professional settings. The topic of Islamic ethics in organizational contexts was delivered by Dr. Jumharia Djamereng, who emphasized the importance of integrity, responsibility, and professional conduct. Meanwhile, religious moderation was discussed by Sandra Dewi Dahlan, S.Pd., M.Pd., highlighting the significance of tolerance and mutual respect in diverse social environments.
Through these sessions, students were encouraged to develop not only their academic and technical skills but also their ethical awareness and intercultural sensitivity. The integration of these competencies reflects the program’s commitment to preparing graduates who are both professionally capable and socially responsible.
The internship preparation program is expected to enhance students’ confidence and adaptability as they transition from academic settings to real-world professional experiences.
