Jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris conducted a community service program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat) in Bulukumba on 8–9 May 2026. The activity carried the theme “Integrating Qur’anic Values through Language Development in Islamic Boarding Schools” and involved lecturers, students, and members of the local pesantren community.
The program was organized as part of the department’s commitment to strengthening community engagement through education, literacy, and language empowerment. During the activity, participants took part in discussions and interactive sessions focusing on the integration of Qur’anic values into language learning practices in pesantren environments.
Lecturers and students of the department collaborated directly with teachers and santri to encourage the development of language skills while maintaining the values of Islamic education. The activity also became a platform for knowledge sharing and academic contribution between the university and the community.
Through this community service program, the department aimed to promote meaningful educational outreach and strengthen the relationship between higher education institutions and local communities. The event was warmly welcomed by the pesantren community and is expected to inspire further collaborative programs in the future. (Author: PC)
